The weather has finally started to warm up, reminding us all that summer is on its way. Whether you’ll be tanning by the pool or heading to the beach, everyone needs a bathing suit. Let’s take a look at what bathing suits will be big at the beach and perfect for the pool in 2018.
Bikini
The bikini is a bathing suit basic. Jeremy Scott’s bikini features a sports bra-esque top with comic prints, perfect for sipping a mojito on the beach or going for a jog. Moschino also opts for a more simple silhouette, simply adding studs to a pale blue bikini. Orla Kiely dresses her bikini up with ruffles, giving it a very vintage, very 40’s vibe.

High-Waisted Bikinis
High-waisted bikinis have been popular in recent years, as they tend to stay fashionable while offering more coverage. Badgley Mischka’s high-waisted bikini features a well-placed ruffle that splits the bottom in two, a 3D floral section and a flat section. Chanel goes old-school with an Egyptian styled bathing suit that features a pseudo skirt and a high neckline. Red Valentino featured a paisley ensemble paired with a dainty beach cover-up, perfect for heading to a resort on the coast of Greece or sailing along the Amalfi Coast.

Full Coverage
Some designers opted to keep it covered when it came to bathing suits. Chanel created a tie-dyed piece with a matching cover-up, perfect for seeking shade near the pool. Moschino’s Motorcross bathing suit featured a lovely zipper detail, perfect for tanning. Norma Kamali featured vintage style bathing suits with ruffles galore, ideal for stretching out in the sand and reading a good book near the ocean.

Revealing
Although many designers chose to show full coverage ensembles, many went with more provocative styles. Alberta Ferretti’s simple one-piece features a deep v, perfect for tanning by the pool. Cynthia Rowley decided to show a monokini, with mesh paneling covering most of the torso. Norma Kamali’s bathing suit had simple stripes and showed off the model’s good side.
