This season is all about dressing down to dress up. With revealing garments and silken pajamas making their way down the runway, it seems that some designers are letting pajama parties inspire their work. This trend is a little risque, so you might want to dial back this style when taking it to the streets, or avoid this post if you prefer more modest models. Let’s let loose and take a look at some of the best lingerie looks this season.
Braless
Let’s start with the lingerie that lacks, well, lingerie! This season, models have been bare breasted, showing off skin under sheer garments, or sometimes no garments at all! Alexis Mabille’s use of the ruffle to just let a little breast peek out from under the lace is a tasteful use of this trend, while Shaina Mote uses pleats for a similarly stunning effect. Attico’s precise use of appliques covers just enough skin, and Nicopanda let’s the model cover up for herself. Molly Goddard uses a little window to reveal just a sliver of breast.

Bras
Breasts’ best friend has made their way into fashion, sometimes under sheer garments, and other times thrown over opaque ones. Aalto and Vaquera stay simple and let their bras speak for themselves, while Esteban Cortazar embellishes their bra with a mess neck. Nina Ricci and Naeem Khan utilize lace for their lingerie, making them perfect layering pieces.

Bra and Panty Sets
Bra and panty sets have been making people feel sexy since the creation of, well, bra and panty sets! Show off at a dance with Alessandra Rich’s high-waisted panty set and 80’s style sheer cover up, or rock some ruffles with Zimmermann’s polka dotted style. Off-White’s sheer dress over a green set is beautiful for a walk through the botanical gardens, while Jenni Kayne’s black ensemble is great for concerts and more casual events. No. 21 utilizes a sheer, floral fabric well, making this almost modest enough for regular street style.

Bustiers
Designers are fashioning this piece of lingerie into chic tops, such as Ermanno Scervino’s lace bustier. Natasha Zinko and Olivier Theyskens layer their bustiers over garments, while Koche looks more like a bathing suit. Givenchy really nailed this trend, making a bustier that almost looks like a crop top, perfect for both street wear and runway.

Chemises
Silken nightgowns and tight lace nighties take the runway by storm with this style. Fendi’s lace negligee shows a lot of skin, but reigns it in with a sheet cover up, while La Perla lets the silhouette bring the sexy, instead of being too revealing. Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma line plays with leisure and lust with a fitted chemise thrown on over a sweater, and Marchesa uses embroidery to cover up the model in a seductive style. Jeremy Scott’s negliee let’s a bit of the panty shine through the garment, covering up what needs to be covered while still revealing what he can.

Getting out of bed has never been so easy with this style! Fashion East and Haney take silken pajamas to a new level with nightie inspired dresses, while Tosia’s silken dress is a more modest pajama. St. John and Miu Miu go for separates, with the classic pajama ensemble of pants (or shorts), a button up top, and a comfy robe.
