Resort, a season like no other. Some say it’s antiquated, others call it cutting edge. I call it beautiful and go through every show meticulously. From laminated lace to detailed floral prints, this resort season was one for the ages. Let’s take a look at the top trends from Resort 2019.
Art Deco
Art deco came about in the 1920’s, and it’s back now just in time for the 2020’s. Erdem features a blending of art deco arches and floral prints, and Fendi features lovely little art deco baubles on their fur coat. Prada’s mock neck features the art deco scales, similar to the pants Valentino sported.

Blazer Dress
The blazer dress has been mounting in popularity, and Resort 2019 seemed to be its official debut. Chanel’s simple blazer dress is reminiscent of their Pre-Fall 2018 line, which featured a lot of sailor-centric ensembles, and Ralph Lauren went with a similar design, though slightly longer. Veronica Beard showed a lovely plaid blazer dress, while Versace showed two absolutely stunning ones.
Set your wardrobe ablaze with these fabrics:
Lavender
Lavender is the sensual and sweet color of Resort 2019, cooling it down from Pantone’s Ultraviolet. Alena Akhamadullina’s fairytale style dress is perfect in lavender, while Milly goes with a more structured style with a beautiful pant and crop top set. Escada’s quilted coat and blouse are a lovely shade, and Khaite’s fitted blazer is styled expertly with a loose, pleated skirt.
Love these lavender fabrics:
Tropics
Resort has never been so on the nose. 3.1 Phillip Lim featured a blending of several tropical prints, while Badgley Mischka featured one stunning tropical floral. Balmain showed a lovely dress of sequins that made up palm trees, and No. 21’s pineapple dress is perfect for an island vacation.
Head to the tropics with these fabrics:
Victorian
From the tropics all the way to England, Resort was all over the world. Anna Sui’s simple black dress featured poet sleeves and a lovely neckline, serving Jane Eyre realness, while Batsheva featured a more feminine creation with mutton sleeves and a high neckline. Erdem really channeled the ornate opulence of the Victorian upper class with an extravagant hat and stunning coats, and Fendi blended the modest silhouettes with the extravagant prints for a lovely A-line creation.
