This season was all about the mermaid skirt. Acne Studios’ crochet mermaid skirt fits right in with the beachy aesthetic of mermaids, while Thom Browne went for the professional mermaid out on the town look. Andrew Gn’s black mermaid skirt should be seen sweeping across a ball room, and Balmain’s leather mermaid skirt showed the mermaids can be punk too.

Overalls are the ultimate in utility fashion, which made them a prime separate at PFW Spring 2018. Alessandra Rich fashioned a pair of professional overalls, while Christian Wijnants went with a more traditional look. Paul & Joe created a preppy looking overall, perfect for rainy Sundays at the library or late nights in a quiet café.

Pinafore Dress
The pinafore dress has been steadily growing in popularity, coming from the streets but now spending a lot of time on the runway. Cacharel’s basic pinafore dress is perfect for pairing with a variety of patterns, while Christian Dior’s leather pinafore dress is a statement in itself. Hermes and Noir Kei went with interesting straps for their dresses, both dropped down to the waist, while Julien David pulled the straps taught and close to the throat.

Statement Bombers
Designers love to turn heads, which is why the statement bomber has been all over the runway this season. Dries Van Noten and Tsumori Chisato both went for a tropical style bomber, while Manish Arora’s is a little more trippy than tropical. Moncler Gamme Rouges utilized eyelet for an interesting bomber, perfect for a breezy spring day, and Maison Kitsune’s quilted gold bomber could find the light on the darkest of days.

White suits were popular pieces this season, showcasing professionalism and style. Akris featured faces on their white suits, while Filles a Papa went with simple stripes.
