Off the shoulder tops and cut outs have been making their rounds on the runway, but the new trend is all about straps. From spaghetti straps to asymmetrical ones, designers have been adding straps and layers to all their off the shoulder looks. Let's take a look at fashion's newest straps
Designers are showing some shoulder with asymmetrical straps. For Fall 2017, Cushnie et Ochs puts all the weight on one shoulder, while their Resort 2018 line features a thick strap on one side, and then a spaghetti strap that holds onto both shoulders. Gabriela Hearst's one shoulder top is perfect for a date night at the movies, while Christian Esber's rib knit dress with eccentric straps on one side is perfect for a candle-lit evening at a romantic Italian restaurant. Dion Lee's straps span both shoulders, making this shift dress perfect for betting at the roulette table.

Chokers are back, and they're better than ever. Instead of putting on an accessory, these designers have fashioned the chokers right out of their fabric. Elie Saab executes this look perfectly in their Spring and Fall 2017 Couture shows, while Bibhu Mohapatra velvet evening gown is more simple, but still stunning. Christian Siriano uses a lot of angles to show of this neckline, creating a show stopping choker.

The latest off-the-shoulder addition is the tank top staple, the spaghetti strap! Badgley Mischka utilizes the spaghetti strap to create a beautiful silhouette in the sleeves, Cinq a Sept and Zac Posen throw spaghetti straps on typical strapless dresses. Carven uses four straps to highlight the shoulders of the model, and Yigal Azrouel creates a stunning halter top with spaghetti straps.

Designers have been obsessed with layers this season, especially when it comes to sleeves. Antonio Marras simply lets the bra straps peak through for Fall 2017 line with this off-the-shoulder dress, while the Resort 2018 line features an off-the-shoulder sweater layered over a full sleeved sweater. Chalayan layers an off-the-shoulder dress over a tank top, perfect for a day on the boardwalk, and Self-Portrait's sweater uses a mesh shoulder covering with off the shoulder sleeves for the perfect transition piece for going from summer to fall.

The halter is a classic strap, accentuating the neck and showing off the shoulders. Paired with an off-the-shoulder garment, it makes for an exciting twist on this iconic style. Alexis Mabille gets experimental with a collar halter neck, and it pays off in this stunning look that fits in at the office or the Met Gala. Nicole Miller adds some charm with a laced up halter, while Alice + Olivia use a taught halter neck. Rachel Zoe's simple halter neck gown is perfect for an elegant wedding, while Temperley London uses conversational patches to make this dress the perfect ensemble for a walk on the beach or thrift shopping in the city.
