Red, the color of passion and desire, the shade of slinky silhouettes, the hue of women’s heart health. Coronary Heart Disease is the number one killer of women in the United States, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, yet not many realize the severity of the situation. So, a program to help raise awareness began. The first Friday of every February is National Wear Red Day, a campaign to get people across the country sporting red and supporting women’s heart health. I wanted to take a look at how designers have been using red in their 2018 collections, and how you can support women’s heart health while looking fierce. Let’s take a look at 2018 in red.
