Pre-Fall collections offer a taste of what is to come in the near season while providing transitional clothing from one season to the next. In this round of pre-collections, there is a lot of attention to detail and powerful punches of color. Find out below which trends topped our chart in the Pre-Fall collections for 2021.
Theirs
Acceptance for all is important, and although it’s long overdue, the fashion industry is catching on, and the evidence is showing through on the Pre-Fall runways now more than ever before. Clothing is no longer exclusively being made to cater to one body type. Many fashion houses continue to adopt genderless silhouettes that cater to a wider range of body builds. Are you looking to create a genderless style of your own? Flannel, shirting, and suiting are a few options that will get the job done.

Button Me Down
An essential part of most clothing includes the closures like zippers, toggles, snaps, and more. The Pre-Fall runway is bursting with buttons in high and low places. Accent buttons quite literally appear everywhere, from blazer bodices to the caps of sleeves. Popular button displays on the Pre-Fall 21/21 runway are button front midi skirts, offering a very vintage feel. Whether the buttons you fancy are embellished with a glitzy finish or more mainstream like metal or plastic, no buttons are getting left behind.

Wrapped Up
An asymmetrical illusion that really contours the figure is that of the wrapped variety. Typically, wrapped styles are seen as a tie detail, but this fall that changes. The tie wrap is still quite practical and effective, but a sleek and less bulky way has surfaced with the help of buttons. Other ways this style is appearing remains through bows and ruched methods.

Sleeve it to the Details
Get fancy free with this one. Bows, ties, elasticated cords, and more are taking over the sleeves in fall fashion, and I’m really excited about it. Statement sleeves are definitely trending–this is a slightly different take on how to pull it off. Instead of wearing puffy sleeves or shoulder pads, try adding some fun to your sleeve cuff. Creating a sleeve tie or an accent adds effortless interest that’s actually somewhat functional (if you find that your sleeve is too long or keeps sliding down).

Sippin’ on Pink Lemonade
The pre-fall collections are filled with colors galore. Two standout colors were yellow and pink. Yellow for fall is expected since it’s one of Pantone’s Colors of the Year. The shades for yellow varied, while the pink that appeared countless times was a bit more consistent. Expect to see a dainty, pale pink from your left to your right in sophisticated forms and some that are a lot more soft and girly.

The Pre-Fall collections didn’t hesitate to dive into the details, and it’s inspiring me to do the same. I really like the tied cuffs look and will definitely be adding pieces to my wardrobe with them.
