With every passing season, larger than life sleeves seem to grow and evolve onto every silhouette imaginable. As a sewist, keeping up with current trends can be a little challenging. Luckily, Mood Fabrics have an extensive library of free patterns and we love to show you how easy it is to hack those patterns to meet your current trend needs! The Setaria Dress free sewing pattern is already packed with great features and now I’m going to show you how to udpate your look with a fabulous Leg Of Mutton Sleeve! Let us know how you plan to rock your redux!

Purchase Materials Used Below:
- 4 yards of Hibiscus Solid Organic Cotton Twill
- 3 yards of Theory Paprika Radiant Polyester Lining
- 2pks Dritz Size 30 – 3/4″ Half Ball Covered Button Kit
- MDF137 – The Setaria Dress Sewing Pattern (free download below!)
Alternative Recommended Fabrics:
All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated. See chart below for sizing specifications. Note, this specific pattern is available up to a size 30.

For this pattern hack, you will also need to download the Davallia Bodysuit.
We are going to combine 2 patterns for this look. First, download your main Setaria Dress Pattern. Next, we need to download the sleeve pattern from the Davallia Bodysuit
Tape together the Davallia Body sleeve pattern and mark it as seen in the photo below.
7 1/2″ down from center shoulder notch
13 1/4″ across to each side seam
Slash and spread the center 5″
Slash and spread the sides 2 3/8″
It’s all in the details! Here I combined two colors for a unique way to do a covered button. I also added contrasting self-made piping for a pop of color!

Thank you so much for these patterns! I love it! quick question, what is the best way to print the pattern? is it multiply A4 pages that you attached by hand into one big pattern?
Hi Nili! It’s individual PDF pages that can be printed (best on US Letter) and taped together to form one pattern. 🙂
thank you!
I love this
