Disappointed that this cape coat is unlined. With the recommended fabric, La lining would give it more body and the armholes would look more finished..
I agree. Although this pattern includes the option for a lining, this version was kept unlined for simpler, more beginner-friendly sewing instructions. If you are someone with experienced sewing skills, adding the lining would be a great touch to this coat.
This was EXACTLY my first thought!! Then scrolled down and it is the first coment, LOL! If you are using cashmere it woud be best for longevity to line the cape.
Thank you for the comments, we definitely recommend to make this project with a lining for longevity and comfort.
Beautiful! Such an original take, Mood has better keep you, Mike.
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
Hi!
How much fabric would you estimate is needed for a size 18 in this coat?
Around 4 yards for size 18
Muy bien explicado, gracias
Very attractive cape pattern. I live in southwest Florida and have no need for wool garments. Would this pattern work with cotton sateen or twill?
Yes, this would also work great with cotton sateen or twill
Hello, Are the finished measurements bigger than the actual size. I am not sure what to cut out . My bust is a 42 and my waist is a 41.5.
Yes, the finished garment measurements are bigger due to the ease and flow of the garment
This is absolutely gorgeous, unlined or lined. I haven’t worked with this type of fabric before. Does it fray? I noticed that the seams were left unfinished. Thank you for this gorgeous pattern.
Hello, the seams were left unfinished to comply with the instructions that are beginner-friendly, and edges on this fabric do not really fray.
