Brisk temperatures are here so why not warm up with a cozy wrap coat? This classic style is all about clean lines and versatility. I love a coat that’s stylish but also serves its purpose to keep me warm!
With a wide full-length shawl collar, tie belt and no buttons to fuss over, you can easily wrap up and head out! I absolutely love this coat and here are all the details on what I used to make it.
Pattern: Burda Style issue 8/2016 Wrap Coat Style 116 Masterpiece
Mood Designer Fabrics:
- Italian Heathered Dirty Moss Wool Blended Coating
- Rag & Bone Pewter and Black Double Faced Felt-Like Sew-in Interlining
- Cream Twill Viscose Lining
As always, make sure to take your measurements and adjust fit according to your size and style preference.
This particular pattern suggests using a textured herringbone wool. Instead, I decided to go for a softer look so I chose this really pretty heathered wool blend from moodfabrics.com.
For added warmth, I used the double faced sew-in interlining around the entire length of the shawl collar.
The only adjustment I made to the pattern was to shorten the sleeves about 1.5” shorter than suggested.
I also added a decorative contrasting grosgrain ribbon around the inside lining for an added touch. Enjoy!

Awesome! Love the look! Thank you for the great pattern.
I absolutely LOVE this and want to make it but I can’t find the pattern now. Looks like their site only goes back to 2017. Any idea where I can find this?
