I’ve been doing a lot of historical reading lately. Books on the twenties, the French Revolution, the Victorian Era, anything I can get my hands on. With every passing page, I fantasize about dressing in the garb of the times. With my body type, I’ve never felt comfortable in a drop waist, and unfortunately, the bustle and corset went out of style over 100 years ago. That leaves me with the vestiges of Victorian style, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Brittany absolutely rocked the Yarrow Dress, and I’ve been dying to get my hands on literally anything from Mood’s Key Largo Collection, so I got to work and made the perfect piece for escaping the bitter cold slowly setting in.

The Victorian Era, named after Queen Victoria herself, is well-known for high necklines, big sleeves, and ruffles. Although the hem length of the Yarrow Dress might’ve caused gossip and shock back in the day, I think they would’ve appreciated the beauty of this lovely voile ensemble. To make it even more authentic, you could add another layer of ruffles below the knee, similar to the Zenobia Dress.
I couldn’t be happier with the way this dress came out. The pastels are absolutely stunning, the ruffles flattering, and the envious stares are such a boost of confidence! But, there’s no need to stare with envy, when you can easily make your own! This dress was so easy to put together, and although it was my first time using a basting stitch, it was an absolute breeze.
What will you be making your Yarrow Dress out of, and where will you wear it? Let me know in the comments!

I was looking for the size chart, but I can’t find it. Is it the same size chart as other sewciety patterns?
Hi, Katie! Here is the Yarrow Dress Tutorial, the size chart is listed in the original. It is the same as the other patterns, I made this in size 18.
I like the showcase of two different sizes. They both look great.
If you download the pattern to print. What size 9f paper do you print the pattern onto?
