If anyone knows anything about me, it’s that I love cats, hats, and jackets. Mood recently received this new jacquard with cats in top hats on it, and after pairing it with The Zinnia Jacket pattern, I now have the absolute best addition to my wardrobe that can never be beat. This fabric drapes like an absolute dream. I can envision it as a gorgeous retro swing dress as easily as I can see an adorable bomber jacket or even some cute as heck statement pillows. Personally, the outerwear direction I decided to go in was absolutely purr-fect.
Fabrics & materials used:
- 4 yards Red, White and Black Cat with Top Hat Jacquard
- 1/2 yard Black Single-Sided Fusible Interfacing

I feel like a jacket with cats all over it shouldn’t make me feel this cool, but it totally does. I love how the bottom just billows while I walk. It would lend itself just as well to a longer coat or a full skirt. (Part of my wants to try it with our Iris Ensemble skirt next. No? Too much??)
One of the coolest aspects of this particular jacquard is actually the back side of the fabric. Many jacquards are totally reversible, but this one has an array of vibrant stripes. It’s like a built-in surprise lining.

Fantastic!! I love the coat and the fabric!! I look forward to your next creation.
I love this! What is the lining fabric please?
There’s no lining! That’s just the back of the jacquard. 🙂
I love this coat ! It suddenly appear tobe on my looooong do list. I specially like jackets and coats with soujder princess seam, they are the easiest way to deal with shoulder ajustements and bust ajustement.
Wow, beautiful, and the flash of the insde of the jaquard is great.
