Richard Chai Fabric
Richard Chai is a New York designer of women’s and men’s apparel. Known for his synthesis of eclectic influences including traditional sartorial fashion, contemporary streetwear, sportswear, and even “suburbia,” Chai has continued to reinvent his unique aesthetic since launching his eponymous label in 2004. Referred to as one of the “new Asian” influences on modern design, Chai is also known for his surprising pairing of fabrics—e.g., silk mixed with wools and twill with georgette—for an understated, menswear-inspired look.
