Crochet Lace is named for the method of creation, the twisting and looping of yarns with a hook, from the French croche. Crochet lace may feature any number of designs, from florals to geometrics, and is typically thicker or chunkier than other forms of lace. Crochet lace may take the form of gridded filet crochet or intricate Irish crochet and its modern derivatives, such as pineapple lace for true crochet, however, modern crochet lace fabric is sometimes produced in other methods to mimic the look and feel of crochet. As it’s less fine than other laces, crochet lace is most commonly used on more casual blouses and boho-style dresses.
