With an artful, head-turning beauty that dates back to the 3rd Century BC, it’s really no wonder why embroidered and eyelet fabrics are the go-to choices where everything from evening gowns to custom drapery is concerned. Initially coined “craft of two hands” in 17th Century India, embroidered and eyelet fabrics had some of their first appearances on handkerchiefs, flags, robes, tunics, slippers, and belts. The most ancient forms of embroidery were done using gold and silver threads. While eyelet creativity was executed, most notably, with lace and leather. Today, embroidered and eyelet fabric interpretations include every textile from cotton to silk to wool.
