Terry Cloth, also known as terry toweling, is a woven or knit fabric with protruding loops on both sides; when woven, these loops are produced with an extra set of warp threads. Made to be highly absorbent and usually composed of cotton (though polyester is also possible), terry cloth is best used for towels, bath robes, and swimwear cover ups. French terry is a similar material, but features loops on only one side.
