A type of man made plastic, vinyl fabric is found in clear plastic umbrellas and raincoats, flannel-backed vinyl outdoor tablecloths and much more. Vinyl can also be applied to fabrics to create a waterproof coating. Easily embossed, vinyl can be finished to look like reptile skin or stamped with a floral design. Although this material is not breathable, it can easily be wiped down when cleaned and does not require special care.
