Chantilly Lace Trim
Created using half and whole stitches that give visual depth to the lace, Chantilly Lace Trim is the perfect accent to boho crop tops and boyfriend jeans. A handmade bobbin lace, this lovely textile was named after the city of Chantilly, France. Generally black and made of silk, although alternatives are available, Chantilly lace typically features a floral motif. Originally created in strips 4" wide and joined with no visible seam, Chantilly lace was the top choice for delicate shawls in the 19th century. Today, Chantilly lace is ideal for trimming on a sunhat, as a hemline ruffle, or as sleeve flounces.
