Drawstring Closures & Drawcords

Drawstrings are the perfect classic closures. Often seen in the hoods of hoodies, a drawstring can be a string, cord, or rope used to gather a fabric. Sometimes tied at the end to hold the material in place, they often have a hard plastic end to prevent fraying. Use drawstrings for corset backed blouses and lace-up detailing on jeans.

Drawcord is a simple and subtle way to add detail and design to any garment. A woven cord often used for gathering fabrics, drawcord is sometimes finished with a tag at the end, similar to the metal or plastic around the end of a shoe lace (otherwise known as an aglet). Although probably most recognizable from the hoods in sweatshirts, drawcord can also be used in waistlines, shoes and pouches. From the waist of a beach cover up to a couture gown, drawcord can gather or complement any fabric.
