I don’t have nearly enough basics in my closet, I’ve got a mess of prints but nothing to wear them with. When Mood rolled out their line of Basic Patterns, I knew I would be sewing soon. Not only are these patterns perfect for filling out your closet, they’re easy to put together.

Brittany looked absolutely amazing in the Juniper Skirt, so I decided to make it out of cotton twill for a simple sewing project. I love pastels, so I utilized Mood’s Pink Solid Organic Cotton Twill for a basic skirt that would keep up with my flashy wardrobe. I lined it with Mood’s Exclusive Un Dia en Andorra Beige Cotton Poplin for some added style. Both the cotton twill and poplin were a dream to sew with, not slippery at all and they didn’t give my machine any problems.

A Lining that POPS

I have to say, I was a little nervous about this skirt. Although I’m of the belief that with a little confidence anyone can wear anything, I wasn’t quite sure whether this skirt would be flattering on my curves. Lo and behold, Mood proved me wrong again by delivering an adorable pattern that works wonders for the average woman.

I Feel Like a Macaron

I absolutely love this skirt! Not only is this pink very me, it’s versatile. I could wear it every day of the week and look different every time. Trust me, I’ve tried it on with every blouse and bodysuit I own. Paired with a gamboge crop top or an emerald fur vest, this skirt could easily be worn in the fall or winter (with some tights, of course).
