As the first half of the year has come and gone, a lot has changed from going back into civilization, work shifts, and especially how we feel about clothes. Many have been in search of the silver lining at the end of the pandemic, and fashion was ready to show out. The themes this year are sure to resonate with people of all styles, so buckle up because these are too good to miss out on!
1. Pastels
The sweetest looking trend around comes in soft hues that offer an ultra-sweet and innocent look. To wear pastels this season color-blocking different pastels is the move for a bit of flirty fun. If you’re dipping your toes in the pastel water, then start with a neutral base, adding pastel pops of color from there. Pair soothing pastels with co-ords, knit dresses, and ultra-popular separates for a soft fabric feel complete with soft colors!

2. Minimalist
The minimalist dressing is all about utilizing a muted palette paired with elevated wardrobe basics. This style is perfect for all, making it simple to curate a style that looks chic and put together without trying too hard. The last thing anyone needs after a global pandemic is fussy clothing. To take part in the trend, take inspiration from the F21 catwalks. Creating a minimalist outfit is as simple as tailored trousers and a relaxed t-shirt.

3. Wanderlust
Traveling has people off the ground once again, and the wanderlust theme will have everyone vacation-ready. The catwalks for S21 and resort collections were bursting with destination-inspired colors, fabrics, and prints perfect for billowing in the salty air. Even if vacation plans aren’t in your near future, tropical/floral prints and styles are available for anyone that wants to bring the tropics right to their couch or backyard (don’t forget the sunblock and a cold drink).

4. Show Some Skin
Many runways displayed a very bare-all type of style for this season with skin on show. Pieces like mini skirts and mini dresses are certainly having a revival. Color palettes are quite literally being used in every realm, so it’s simple to choose a tiny little top or skirt to pair with colors and shades all over the rainbow. Start with the essential micro-mini skirt to get the ball rolling.

5. Joyful Dressing
For lovers of fashion, clothing makes us happy. This season, joyful dressing has a whole new meaning. From oversized silhouettes in the form of broad shoulders to in-your-face colors and exaggerated prints, the world is getting back their joy, and they’re not leaving anyone behind! Looking to add some fun to your wardrobe? Try colors of sunshine yellow, citrus orange, and hot pink!

I’m thankful for the rays of sunshine and for all of the fun fashion I’ve been seeing, and I doubt I’m the only one. We all needed a bit of a wild card fashion season that worked in our favor towards our efforts back into civilization (comfies are great, but a solid year in them is a bit much, so thank you next).
