Before you begin, you want to make sure the area you are working with is large enough to fit your pattern.
- First I’m going to trim away some of the patches fabric to define the border.
- Next, pin your patch to the back of the jacket.
- Finally using a patchwork stitch, sew along the edges of the patch
That’s it! It’s an extremely simple way to add some style to your wardrobe! Use these same simple steps to add a large-scale patch to a tote bag, pillow, or simply frame one for your sewing room to add to the decor! There are tons of ways to use these beautiful patches. Gorgeous! Is fusing the patch to the jacket helpful ? Or, is it not necessary?
It can definitely be helpful to keep the patch in place when sewing, but it’s not completely necessary. 🙂 Note, the patches include some synthetic fibers, so I’d recommend ironing from the denim side to avoid melting any of the patch.
