Trench coats were the most popular outerwear this season, with a variety of these pieces making their way down the runway for the upcoming Spring 2018 season. Colorful
These trench coats are perfect for fighting the rainy day blues. Andrew Gn’s bright blue stands out in a crowd, while Erika Cavallini and Gucci went with more subdued tones. La Perla’s bright red coat is perfect for turning heads, and Marta Jakubowski’s purple trench coat shows off a softer shade of purple.

Deconstructed
Deconstructed trench coats were all over the runway this season. A.W.A.K.E. and 3.1 Phillip Lim both simply cut some slits in their jackets, while Alexander McQueen seems to have sewn several jackets together. Unravel’s trench coat is simply in tatters, while Loewe cut a delicate and elegant fringe into the bottom of the coat.

Metallic raincoats are perfect for reflecting the little sun there is on an overcast day. Bottega Veneta’s copper coat is perfect for a rainy day down the shore, while Each x Other’s silver trench coat fits right in on the streets of New York City. Neutral
The classic trench coat is still in style, with designers using neutral colors to show off their designs. A.P.C. beige is the perfect backdrop for that beautiful leather belt, while Vivienne Tam let’s her design coat be the star of the show. Alessandra Rich and Rachel Antonoff both created beautiful white trench coats, while ICB made a black one with the perfect contrasting seems.

Patterned
Patterns were all over trench coats this year, like Creatures of the Wind’s half beige, half sunflower garment. Off-White and Tosia both utilized basic windowpane check, while Missoni went for a more complex and colorful check. Michael Kors Collection showed off the safari style with a tropical leaf pattern and matching hat.
